How to Tie a Bow Tie

Gentlemen, we must know how to tie a bow tie if we are going to rock them! Read below and follow these easy instructions, or watch our video!

First start with the bow tie, evenly around your neck, now let's make the left bow about two inches longer than the right bow.
Now lets cross the left bow over the right, and then under, just like you are tying your shoes (you remember how to do that right?) At this point you want to make sure you tighten the pre-bow tie pretty tightly, and take that left bow and toss that over your should, get it outta here we don't need it, just yet. Now our shorter, right bow will become the front of our bow tie. Fold the right bow in half making the shape of a bow tie. Now remember the longer left side, over on your shoulder? Take it and drape it over the right bow. Now pinch the right shorter bow, and pinch the two end together like a taco and pull forward. Making a nice little hole or loop. Now take your left index finger and as close to your neck as possible push the left, longer bow through the loop. At this point you are going to have to finagle your bow tie. Pull the left side of the bow through the loop and you will see the makings of a bow tie start to appear. At this point it is just fine tuning your bow tie. Tightening as you go, by pulling opposite ends of the bow ever so slightly. Remember, unlike a traditional necktie, you do not want a bow tie to look perfect, if it looks too perfect people will think you are wearing a clip on. I think we all remember the great bow tie fiasco of 1994, we certainly do not want a repeat of that! Congrats gentlemen, you have successfully tied a bow tie! Now go show your gentlemen swag!
